Depends on what you like. The Kurrajong stuff is open and fast with a few smaller (and bigger) jumps. You can pin it and it's almost totally flat. On the other Stockyards side it's almost the opposite. Lotsa rocks, steep climbs and gnar downhills.

I like to start at Stockyards, yack up the hill (right from the carpark entry) then get into the fun stuff and come back down the bottom of the DH area, turn back up the hill and climb back up the ridge. Then you can go over the top and back down to the Kurrajong area, pin a lap of that then suffer your way back over the hill. Once you are back up to the top you can treat yourself to the DH run of your choice (they REALLY mean it when they say double black at the Youies - be warned). From the bottom of the DH you can do the tails back to the carpark or extend to the last bit on the eastern side and back to the carpark. It's about 30km all up and pretty hard. Be aware it gets HOT out there on a hot day. Take plenty of water.

I tend to flat a bit in the Youies thanks to the speed and rocks. Take enough tubes. I'd make sure you take a mate to scape you up if you come off too. Youies is fun and pretty safe if you take it easy but you can get yourself in trouble if you go to hard and don't learn the trails.

Get these if you haven't already. They really help. It's a bit of a maze out there. http://www.youyangsmtbinc.com.au/maps.html

Cheers,

Dregs
