First trip to Lysterfield
« on: January 28, 2019, 12:07:09 PM »
Hello all.
I haven't been to Lysterfield, or any other mtb park for that matter, and am planning to get there tomorrow morning. Good advice would be to start off with one of your newbie clinics, but unfortunately I can't get there at the times they are sheduled.
I wonder if anyone can suggest a beginners circuit?
I have downloaded a map of the park and see that a number of the "blue" tracks form a loop, but on closer reading some of the descriptions are a bit intimidating. I am well aware that route descriptions can be difficult - one persons adventure can be another's  nightmare another persons walk in the park.
If I'm taking it easy, might I be reasonably comfortable on the blue tracks?

Hey mate, a good beginner loop would be Buckle, Upper Buckle, Dog pound, Middle, Red gum, Hug and Blair. Along these trails you’ll find b lines around any features, so you’ll be fine.

This loop will cross lots of fireroads. If you need to bail out, take any of the fireroads down to Lake Circuit. This is the fireroad that goes around the lake.

Have a copy of the trail map on you.

Hope you have fun.
Keep Rollin' Rollin' Rollin.
