March 2020 - Warrandyte/Hans Loop

When: Saturday 7th March 2020
Time: 7.30am ride out.
Where: Warrandyte and Hans Loop trails
Meet: Beasleys Nursery car park, Warrandyte
Cost: FREE, but you must register - https://online.mtba.asn.au/ERegister.aspx?E=7948
Bring Coffee money.

The ride: 25kms of fun XC style trails. A little bit if bike path getting between the singletrack. Medium fitness and skill needed. All our social rides are SOCIAL and not a smash fest. Lots to stops and chatting along the ride.

We will stop at Beasely's for coffee post ride.

Insurance Option:
Optional Recreation permit provides you with public liability and personal accident cover for the event.  $10/day for Non-MTBA member. Recreation day permits are available for purchase with your online rego for the ride. If you choose not to purchase a Recreation Permit you WILL NOT be covered by insurance and you participate at your own risk.

Social Ride Leaders and Skills Instructor opportunities.
As the club has seen a significant growth in our Social ride and Skills sessions, we have the opportunity to get some LDTR club members trained up to to help lead these.

Social rides - Able to lead a group of beginner and intermediate riders on a 2-3 hour social ride at either Lysterfield MTB Park or other MTB parks VIC. This may include our monthly General & Junior social rides or our mid week social rides.
You'll need:
A current First Aid & CPR cert.
MTBA Level 0 Ride leaders training and MTBA membership
To commit to leading a min of 4 social rides per year for two years.
Working With Children Check (for junior rides)
Good familiarity with the trails of Lysterfield or other MTB parks in VIC.

Skills Instructor - Able to take a group of 5-6 beginner and intermediate riders through a 2 hour skills session at Lysterfield.
You'll need:
A current First Aid & CPR cert. and MTBA membership
PMBIA Level 1 or MTBA Level 1 Instructors Cert.
To commit to min 4 Skills sessions per year for two years.
Working With Children Check
Good familiarity with the trails of Lysterfield

LDTR has the opportunity for a small number of LDTR Club members to have their costs for the above certs covered. Some criteria needs to be ahered to for this opportunity including experience and competency as a rider. If you are interested, please email me at events@lysterfieldmtb.com for more details.

Trail Building / Trail Build and Maintenance Day: Lil Shawty Build 2

DATE & TIME: Sunday 22nd of March 8:30am

REGISTRATION:

We highly encourage you to sign in online. Link for the registration will be posted soon. However, you are more than welcome to turn up on the day and sign in there.

MEETING POINT:

Parks VIC Deport (Just above the Skill Park) 13 Reservoir Road, Narre Warren North.

WORKS:

We will be working on upper section of  Lil Shawty trail to formalize existing features by removing embedded wood and rebuilding features in accordance with similar skills park features. Gap jumps and tabletop jumps will be created along the trail. Reverse grade drainage will be added along the trail as a part of the build.

BRING:

Water, food, shovel (If you prefer your own shovel), good shoes (preferably steel capped) and appropriate clothing for weather.

Please let us know if you are attending by replying on this forum thread, so we can organise tools and food etc.

If you have any question, please ask away.
BBQ and cold drinks will be provided for free to volunteers at the end of the build.
BYO food if you have a special food requirement

Builds usually run for 4-6 hours and if you want to leave early or arrive late on that day, please message me on this forum or contact us via our form at www.lysterfieldmtb.com.

3 Hour race - Junior Under 19's Male/Female Solo 15yrs to 18yrs - $35

15yrs+ can still enter the main Open 3 hour and compete with the big kids, if you like.

Lazy Loops @ Lysty 2020 Autumn series.

Round 1 - Friday 7th February
Round 2 - Friday 6th March
Round 3 - Friday 3rd April

Lazy Loops is a low key, no frills event, with basic timing and fun prizes for random participation. This is NOT a serious race. It is a fun race, with a social emphasis. All level of riders are welcome. This is the perfect race for people that have never been in a MTB race before.

Register opens the Monday before each round. NO REGO AT THE RACE (online rego's only).
 
Race Day:
Online rego closes at 3pm.
Gates open at 5pm.
Race starts at 6.30pm
Race finishes at 8pm
Prizes and giveaways at 8.30pm

Location: SMBT Car park, Lysterfield MTB Park - 329 Hallam N Rd, Lysterfield South VIC 3156 (NOT THE LAKE SIDE)
Format: timed laps of a designated course.
Categories: Long Loop 6kms, Short Loop 4kms & kids Loop 2kms.   
Courses: TBC

Cost: LDTR Members $5. Non LDTR members $10

A current MTBA Race licence is required or you can purchase a $36 race day licence ($22 for juniors).
