General Discussion / 2020 LDTR AGM
« Last post by Brossie (Tim) on June 16, 2020, 01:35:32 PM »
Hi LDTR Club Members,

The LDTR AGM is coming up and will be held at the old Lysterfield visitors centre (formerly trail Mix) at 7pm on Monday 13th July. We will have a Zoom option available and capped numbers with whatever the COVD restrictions will be on the day. We will send an update closer to the date. All LDTR members are welcome to attend.

This year we are looking for new people to join the LDTR Committee. Sadly we are saying farewell to a few committee members this year, however this means that we have the opportunity to bring in new people, with a fresh approach.

Being on the LDTR Committee means having a lasting impact in the MTB community around Lysty. We have over 450 members, and nearly 10,000 social media followers, making us one of the biggest MTB clubs in the country, and caretakers of the busiest MTB park in the country.

This year we are looking for:
Social Media coordinator. Someone with a passion for getting regular Social Media posts up, and coordinating content from the trail crew, events team and Social rides team. As well as answering inbound messages and comments on the posts.

Friday Fun & Lazy Loops Coordinator. For one friday a month across the warmer months, you will coordinate our long running FFLL series. Managing a small team of volunteers, organizing prizes, and setting up online regos. We've simplified the process immensely, so this will be a fun role to take on.

Working Bee Coordinator. organize our new monthly Working Bee's, with the assistance of the Head trail builder. The Working Bees general maintenance of the trails like clearing puddles and drains, and closing B lines. The Working Bees are a great way for people to volunteer their time at Lysty, without needing prior experience in trail building.

General Committee Member. Or you might like to join as a General committee member and assist the team Coordinators. The teams are Trail Build/Maintenance, Events, Social Rides and Skills Sessions, Admin (Social media, website, memberships etc) and Advocacy (getting more trails and features).

The LDTR Committee meets once every two months, and you’ll be required to attend at least 4 of the 6 committee meetings across the year. We hold the meetings at the old visitors centre at Lysty.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or you'd like to nominate for one of these roles.

I hope to see you at our AGM.

Tim - LDTR Club President.

Our next online Zwift social ride will be on Saturday 2/5/2020 at 10:00am!
You’ll need to search for our Zwift ride leader Dale - Plankosaurus {LDTR}) and follow him. Next add {LDTR} to the end of your username. Once you’re following Dale, He’ll be able to identify the LDTR riders add you to this event and the other events we start doing (We’re hoping to run at least 2 a week and swap between social, training, and race events).

This ride will be the Watopia route “Muir and the Mountain”. It’s got some solid climbing in it, but Zwift glue will be enabled so the group will stay together regardless of how fast you are. And due to the wonders of modern technology, you can simply step off your bike and be magically transported home if it gets a bit much for you 😉

See the Forums for more in depth details - https://www.forum.lysterfieldmtb.com/index.php?topic=2351.0

Looking forward to seeing you all out there!

Also wednesday training rides are in full swing too. i wont be advertising them, but if you have LDTR in your zwift username i'll keep on inviting you :D

Hey Luke, welcome to LDTR mate. Dale and Helen will be a great help, they know almost everything about bikes. In the meantime, you can always jump on YouTube and check out some vids there. I’ve found there is a help vid for pretty much any bike or part. The first time I changed my own BB, it took me about 7 goes to get it right, but got there in the end and now know how to do it properly.

Cheers. Tim

I can try, I'll direct message you my email, let me know what you're struggling with.  Could be interesting trying to problem solve online :)
