Title: Dividing Range MTB skills development - LDTR club members offer
Post by: Martin on October 17, 2012, 08:30:02 PM
As many members of the club are aware I've been teaching mountain biking for several years. Initially informally and now with PMBI (and soon MTBA) accreditation. A number of LDTR members have been asking about lessons to improve their riding. I've felt strongly for a while that i wanted to use my skills as an instructor and coach to help out the club. The outcome is that card carrying LDTR members (yes, you must have your current membership card with you) will receive a 20% discount on DR-MTB instruction and coaching.

Group skills development sessions run for 3 hours and cost $150 per person ($120 for LDTR). Maximum group size is 5 adults.

An exclusive group session is $500 (LDTR $400) for 3 hours

One to one training, longer term coaching or sessions for children/young adults can also be arranged

You can book a session or if you have any enquires i can be contacted via PM or at: info at dividingrangemtb . com . au

There will be sessions on:
Saturday 20th Oct
Sunday 28th Oct
Saturday 3rd Nov

Hope to see you out on the trails soon!

In order to protect the trails, lessons will be modified or cancelled in the event of bad weather

Hello All...

I wish to extend our thanks to Martin for a great course this morning.

The course was very much geared towards solidifying the most basic of techniques, which was exactly what we were seeking. My Partner found the time terrific, and has told me she did not feel any of the trails were beyond her current capacity. And this point alone, was the most important for us..!!

As for myself, I have gained further knowledge that I now have to put into practice. And the bike setup information was also very useful.

I'll be back again. There is so much more to learn..!!!

Thank you Martin.

(I hope to see some of the pictures too..!!)

If anyone would like to brush up their body position or cornering - there are a couple of places left for the Sunday 16th December novice skills session. The session will start at 9:30am from Trailmix. Lessons are 3 hours long and cost $150 ($120 for members of LDTR)

If more advanced riders would like a session in the afternoon of 16th send me a PM and i'll organise one.

Just a reminder - Paul the head instructor at ZepTechniques in Whistler will be coming over in April to run a PMBI level 1 instructors course. The course will be ~$500 and last for three days at Lysterfield.

DR-MTB will be offering course participants discounted lessons in the lead up to the course.

Title: Ladies' skills class - Sunday 16th Dec

As the current participants in the Sunday morning lesson are all female I've decided to make this one women only.

There are two more spots available for ladies would like to work on their skills in time to blow away all comers over the holiday (or just generally brush up on their riding for summer :-)

The session starts from Trailmix at 9:30 (meet at 9:15), runs for 3 hours and costs $150 ($120 for LDTR members - membership starts at $30...)

A couple of week's ago I caught up with Martin for one of his Wednesday skills sessions.

I didn't know what to expect, but Martin is an affable chap, and all I can say it that it was an excellent session and great value, too. I thought I was an ok rider, but picked up heaps from the session and will be back for more.
